Floor renovation project at the Lima restaurant, W1T, Fitzrovia

Over the Christmas period we've carried out a floor renovation project for the Lima Restaurant in Central London. The floors were restored both on the ground floor and in the basement. We've also restored and relacquered a bar top downstairs.

The floors were firstly sanded and then stained using a Mylands stain. Then we finished off with 3 coats of hard wearing polyurethane lacquer.

Beech reclaimed parquet fitting in New Cross SE14

We have a few photos of herringbone reclaimed parquet floor fitting in progress. This beech block is reclaimed which came from s school in Somerset. The block was actually made in Yugoslavia, when it was a single country, therefore the block is older than 20 years. Can't wait to see how the floor turns out once it is sanded and sealed! The job we are doing is in New Cross SE14

Afrormosia reclaimed parquet fitting and sanding in Tooting SW17

We've fitted 45 sqm of reclaimed herringbone parquet flooring on plywood in a residential house in Tooting, SW17. Photos below. A difficulty we had with this job was that the parquet block was not an easy job to clean as we previously thought. It had to be cleaned from 5 sides to get it ready for laying which took us a very long time indeed. We laid parquet with a 2 block border. The laid afrormosia parquet was then sanded down and sealed with 3 coats of lacquer.  In the end it was very much worth it - Afrormosia parquet has this warm and unusual shade to it and is rare to get now days. We could only see the beauty of the parquet at the very end and the floors were lacquered. Lacquer gave more depth to the colour of the block and also highlighted the grain of the wood.

We install herringbone parquet from £30.00 per sqm.

Floor sanding and finishing in Hackney, E8

During this project in Hackney we had to sand engineered flooring which had about 5mm solid wood top layer and then seal the floor with hard wax oil. We had to be very careful not to sand off the top coat of the flooring ensuring the floor was left as smooth and flat as possible.

Our floor sanding prices start at £12.00 per sqm
Floor oiling at £5.00 per sqm

The floor boards had many gaps between them which we filled with pine slivers, the floors were finished with Junckers Strong lacquer.
